Well...I am sitting here at our hotel...its 11:15pm Indiana time (9:15 Denver) and I am counting down the hours until we leave for our 19 hour ride back home. Its amazing how bad you can miss someone...especially when that someone is under a year old and you know he does not know why he does not see us anymore. We will probably get back home around 3am Monday morning...we will be heading right to Scotts parents so I can see Gavin as soon as possible...no matter what time it is...We love him so much and are even more grateful to have him in our lives after being away for so long!
The Stock Show went well. We mainly came to get a better understanding as to how the business works and what it takes to be a champion. Although some things did not work out that great...we are super excited at the amount of information we gained from our 1o day excursion through the yards, barn and show ring. This is definitely something we want our kids raised with...it is amazing what a child can learn when it comes to showing livestock. It teaches tremendous responsibility, character, determination, pride and anything else you can think of when it comes to sports/activities. We definitely know that we do not want to raise our kids to be couch potatoes...not wanting to do chores or help around the house is not going to be an option for our kids...we just cant wait to get started officially!! Officially starting in livestock begins at the age of 7...we still have a lot to learn until then and that is why we will continue to travel to various cattle shows in hopes of becoming great breeders of Hereford cattle. Please wish us a safe ride home!!!!
