Being able to get outside and play is AWESOME...we played outside for awhile yesterday evening and it made for two very sleepy kids. Gavin went off with his daddy and did some farm stuff together (it melts my heart knowing when they are together doing "work" stuff). Gavin came home exhausted and by that time Georgia had been in bed for an hour...this is the amazing part...I ate and did a little cleaning in complete silence...it was kinda nice! Since we had an eventful evening...BOTH kids slept until 8:45 and woke up happy and refreshed...Gavin now loves to shout MOMMMY at the top of his lungs when he is up...it can be a pain some mornings when he wakes up before his sis, but still makes me giggle and feel so loved.
Dont ask why, but something sad has happened...a milestone meaning my baby girl isnt so little anymore...we had to put her swing away ::tear:: She is too heavy for it...we realized her time was up when we would put her in it...turn the thing on to its max speed and the thing barely moved because she is too big...how did that happen?! So yesterday...I trucked the thing upstairs and thought to myself how I wont be seeing it until we have another babe...its just weird because I remember putting it together and loving it and knowing that our baby girl would fall into many blistfull sleeps...those days are just a memory now...this definitely is one of those weird mom/sentimental moments that no one but myself can really understand.
I do need to brag on how easy Georgia has become...it just goes to show that you truly can train your children to become good sleepers and self soothers. They both go down very easily and like to sleep somewhat late...anywhere between 7:30 and 8:30...depending on what we did the day before. Georgia is a very happy baby... Gavin is still easily disciplined and will listen to you 90% of the time...he gets "chair" time when he does something inappropriate...I dont like the way "time out" sounds so chair time is what works for us...he responds very well to it and we really only use that course of action maybe once or twice a week...mainly when he REALLY does something we do not like...like opening doors and proceeding to go outside by himself...definitely a HUGE no no!! We will sit him down and explain to him what he did and why we dont like it...he may not completely understand what we are telling him, but he does know that his action was not appreciated...it takes him about 5 minutes to calm down and then ask for a kiss and a hug...this is when it breaks my heart to discipline him like that but we know we are doing the right thing.
We are definitely looking forward to many more days outside playing and cant wait to get the play set underway...we will be waiting until planting is over so hopefully we can get that thing out there within a month and a half...as long as mother nature cooperates!
