Demolition Date: Kitchen Remodel

Well, we have an official date set, the 16th (10 days!!!), of when this crazy kitchen remodel project begins...crazy being an understatement.

Here is a run down of what we are doing...to start off...we are pushing our current kitchen into where our current living room is...will have a temporary living room next to kitchen until we do phase 3 of house remodel...which is building on a new living room with vaulted ceilings...so here is what we are doing...

Replace ceiling for can lights and 4 pendants above 8 foot island...center fan in current living room for chandelier above kitchen table.

Change slider that goes to screened in porch to a single glass door to make room for more cabinets.

Hickory hardwood floors throughout first floor...minus where new office will be which is where our current formal dining room is.

Tear out ALL cabinets and countertops...as well as replace all appliances (we purchased our double oven, new fridge, new microwave with trim kit, 36 inch gas cooktop, under counter 2 door draw fridge for peninsula, and wine fridge for under island).

Add on to pantry to make it a slight walk in with frosted glass door...move door to formal dining room over to accommodate new pantry...new door to office will be a frosted glass pocket door.

Kraftmaid kitchen cabinets in Canvas for the walls and peninsula...darker island cabinets with custom bookshelves on end...wine fridge will also be under the island.

Granite countertops throughout

Peninsula will be right where the couch is sitting...dining table will be centered in front of picture window.

Again, peninsula where couch is...new island will be 8 feet and straight with pendants above

No more "formal" dining room.  Will use this as our everyday kitchen furniture

Pantry will be built out at an angle with frosted pantry door...dining room door will be moved to the left and be converted to office...and building a wall along the stairs that you see to enclose the office.

Slider will be reduced to a single glass door for more cabinets to the right...which is where our double oven will go with cabinets to ceiling.

This is the look we are going for...minus pendants, wall color and countertop colors

  2. I think we need to schedule a Farm Bureau meeting at your house to see the big reveal! Can't wait to see it, and I will be taking notes on more than just the meeting ;-)
